10 Fitness Products For Less Than $10

Who says that getting fit has to be expensive?  Here are ten products I've found for less than $10 that might just be what you need to kickstart your journey towards better health. 

I've included links to products I like on Amazon.  Since the price can vary by day, some may be slightly higher than $10, but you can do your own search to get the best price.  

1.Bluetooth headphones

If you're like me, you like to listen to music while you work out.  But the headphone cord can really get in your way.  You can buy BlueTooth headphones for less than $10 that will free you from the cord and give you untethered access to your tunes.

2.WeightWatchers magazine

Loaded with tons of healthy recipes, fitness tips and success stories, this magazine is a wealth of information, whether you have weight to lose or not.  Even for men.

3.Extreme Weight Loss Workout DVD

This DVD provides three great workouts, ranging from 10 to 30 minutes, from beginner to advanced level.  Whether you have weight to lose or just want to get more fit, check this out.

4.Resistance bands

Resistance bands are great because they are convenient, light and portable.  You can literally take them anywhere, including on trips and still get a great workout.  This particular product includes bands of varying resistance, an ebook and online videos so you'll know exactly how to get the best results possible.

5.Exercise ball

Exercise balls provide a great variety of ways to exercise your entire body.  They also provide just enough instability to help strengthen your core and give you a great workout.

6.Dumbbells

I love dumbbells as workout equipment because they are easy to use and provide a great variety of exercise possibilities.  I'm cheating a bit here on the $10, as you can only get a pair of small dumbbells for less than $10.  But if you're a beginner, these would be great to start with.  As you advance, you'll quickly want a few sets of different dumbbell sizes.  See my Beginner's Dumbbell Workout here.

7.Shredded Chef cookbook

-Ok, you'll need to get over the cover and look at the contents to realize that this cookbook has dozens of excellent, healthy and easy-to-make recipes.  Perfect as you focus on your healthy eating goals.

8.ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars

I have to admit that I really dislike protein bars.  They taste like flavored, chewy cardboard to me.  The ZonePerfect bars don't have as much protein, but they offer a healthy balance of protein, fat and carbs in a great-tasting crispy bar.  Perfect if you're on the go and want to avoid the temptation of unhealthy convenience food.

9.Exercise playing cards

Such a fun idea.  Turn fitness into a game by shuffling these cards and dealing yourself a set of exercises to form a workout.  Various packs will give you different ways to exercise.

10.Fat calipers and body circumference measuring tape

If you're serious about losing weight, you'll want to use better tools than just the scale.  With these, you can estimate your body fat percentage, and can track changes in your body part circumferences.  These are invaluable to help you understand where you stand on your journey to better health.

Bottom line

Obviously gadgets and exciting health-related products won't make you fit.  They are just tools you can use, but you still need to supply the motivation and effort.  But I know for me, these types of things can help keep me excited and makes my fitness journey more interesting.  Let us know in the comments if you have any more suggestions for inexpensive products that have helped you.
